Simplifying the large-scale production of RNA therapies and vaccines

Global demand for RNA-based therapies and vaccines is surging, but large-scale production remains complex due to challenges in manufacturing the nanosuspensions used in their administration.
In 2025, RampUp teams secured $1,240,360 in funding from Médicament Québec to develop an innovative industrial platform for manufacturing nanosuspensions used in RNA therapies. Conducted in collaboration with RNA Technologies & Therapeutics Inc., Lipoid GmbH and Flowid B.V., this project leverages artificial intelligence and high-performance spinning disk mixers to optimize large-scale production of these therapies while ensuring quality and compliance with pharmaceutical standards.

This project is headed by Professor Xavier Banquy of Université de Montréal.
